Oct 11, 2017

In our drunkest episode ever, we had the hilarious Emily Hickner join Jeremy and Kenny on the couch.

We had Annie Neihoff admit to some of the creepiest, weirdest things anyone has admitted on the show. Sam Lyons told a story about a weird Army dude that we're surprised hasn't murdered anyone. Christine Compass went on a series of dates with a weird, creepy pastor guy. Andy Knight found a man living in the common area of his apartment.

SPC makes its first stop in Indianapolis for a raucous show at the White Rabbit Cabaret. Amy Milton and Jeremy were joined by guest interrupter Isaac Landfert for a show about one of our favorite topics: Dating.

Storytellers for this show include Gwen Sunkel who described an unfortunate overnight date with an out-of-towner she was supposed to take to the airport the next day.

Frankie Spanxx told a story about getting awkwardly quizzed by a guy on a date. Then another date where she got pregnant by a guy who gave her a fake name and disappeared out of nowhere. Then another story that was actually really sweet.

Peter Frederick Wallace talked about a woman that he picked up on Tinder with poetry, then she was really aggressive about hanging at his place that night. It marked the second story in this single episode where someone is unexpectedly slapped in the face during sex.

Rai Caraballo spoke about dating an insane person and getting really drunk in his house full of red flags. It’s very scary but kind of funny.

This episode marks the last of our 2017 Midwestern adventure!

On this episode, we traveled all the way to Louisville, Kentucky to hear five tremendous stories about fights.

Storyteller Amanda Hay told about the time she stuffed her brother in a sleeper sofa and the fight that ensued.

Jamien Tomlinson talks about his fight with an ancient Portland panhandler.

Cindy Hindrichs talks about a dust-up with a lady in a hot tub where they both lost their tops. Yes. Those tops.

Comedian Sean Smith’s story involves a trip to Florida (ugh), Girls Gone Wild (naturally), a friend dressed like a ninja (also, naturally) and being forced to get into a fight despite the fact that he really didn’t want to.

And comedian Kate Sedgewick tells a wild story about a punk house basement show where she got into a fight with a runaway girl, lost her favorite jacket. This episode has a lot of eye gouging.

Our first trip to Cincinnati brought with it a wonderful day, and four wonderful stories in a show themed after former Cincinnati Mayor Jerry Springer.

First up, the SPC team talked with comedian Lee Michael Kimbrell who told a story about disobeying a police officer at a football game and getting to meet the most arrested man in the US. Comic Anna Mazza told a story about a canoe trip that ended with a bomb squad shutting down her block. Billy DeVore shared a story about getting the worst haircut imaginable. And And 2017 funniest person in Cincinnati (amateur division) Ran Barnaclo told a story about possibly ruining his childhood neighbor’s life.

SPC makes its second trip to what is quickly becoming one of our favorite storytelling destinations. For our latest stop in Columbus, we decided to tackle our storytellers’ college experience in what we dubbed The Ohio State Edition.

Whiskey Bear Comedy head honcho and comedy festival favorite Dustin Meadows tells a ridiculous story about his time in school where he majored in pop culture and how a homework assignment led to hitting a friend with his car.

Hashtag Comedy’s Sarah Storer tells an insanely entertaining cautionary tale about why you should never fall in love in Bible school. Spoiler alert, there’s probably some dry humping.

Comedian Pat Deering tells an unusual story about a prank gone awry and how a lost pocket knife almost got him into a heap of trouble.

Columbus storyteller and Babe to Know Christine Hovarth tells a very, er, timely story about taking Plan B.

This show was the second stop on our 2017 Midwestern tour and includes all of the SPC staff including Kenny Kinds, Tim Cornett, Jeremy Hellwig and Kris Wernowsky..

This episode was recorded at the North Bar in Chicago as the first show on our five-city Midwestern tour. What better subject to tackle on our first trip to the Windy City than “Chicago Bosses?”

Our first storyteller was one of Chicago’s funniest comedians, Adam Burke (Doug Loves Movies, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, Put Your Hands Together). Adam told us a slightly disgusting story about his time working at a pub where his boss reused the beer that spilled into the trap. He also admitted to being very bad at construction.

Shannon Noll, who you might know from getting threats for her live portrayal of Barron Trump, told a hilarious story about doing speed and being the best dishwasher one major sub sandwich shop has ever seen. Her story also involves fireworks and a very gross revelation about used kitchen grease.

Like every creative in Chicago, Dan Sheehan (creator of the hilarious NOT A WOLF Twitter account) spent some time working for the online deals pioneers Groupon. His review of his time with the company is less that glowing.

And Finally, Kyle Scanlan (The Whiskey Journal, the Lincoln Lodge) talked about his time working in sales, washing cars, and a boss who encouraged him never to give up on his comedy dreams. His story has an amazing payoff.
